Once Again, Two Shortest St. Pats Concerts in 2019!

Smashmouth | Hot Springs | Shortest St. Patricks Day Parade

For the second year in a row, the First Ever 16th Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade will feature two free public music concerts as part of the parade schedule.

The first will be held March 16, the night before St. Patrick’s Day, from the outdoor stage at the east end of 98-foot Bridge Street, according to Steve

Arrison, CEO of Visit Hot Springs and one of the founders of the parade, which began in 2003.

The free 8 p.m. concert will feature Smash Mouth, the Interscope Records band that has been a favorite since 1997.

The day’s festivities will start at 3 p.m. with the opening of O’Kelley’s World’s Largest Inflatable Pop Up Pub adjacent to Bridge Street. Music will start at 7 p.m., with the Smash Mouth performance beginning at 8. No chairs will be allowed in the concert area.

There will be another free public concert for Sunday night, March 17, immediately following the parade. Performers for that concert will be announced soon.

For the first time in nearly a decade, all five members of what is widely considered the “classic” Smash Mouth lineup have rejoined for the long-term future. Founding guitarist and main songwriter, Greg Camp, along with world-renowned drummer Michael Urbano, have returned to the fold. Founding bassist Paul DeLisle and 20-year-veteran keyboardist Michael “Hippy” Klooster round out the classic combo.

Formed in late 1994, the band immediately begins recording demos and showcasing in both San Jose and Hollywood, Calif. In June of 1997, Smash Mouth is signed to Interscope Records after being added to Los Angeles radio station KROQ’s playlist after only one spin of their song, “Walkin’ on the Sun”.

Smash Mouth’s major-label debut “Fush Yu Mang” went double platinum and set the stage for the band’s masterpiece, 1999’s “Astrolounge.”

Recently, Smash Mouth has been collaborating with Darryl McDaniels (A.K.A. “DMC” of pioneering rap legends Run-DMC) on songs for his upcoming album.

The First Ever 16th Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade®, will feature TV star Ralph (Karate Kid) Macchio as the celebrity grand marshal and Ellen DeGeneres’ favorite DJ and dancer, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, as the official starter.
